The products from “Majidoi” collection are created by two summer interns with the Doi Tung Development Project under Mae Fah Luang Foundation. The main objectives of the foundation itself include improving social and economic development, preserving the environment, and supporting local art and culture. In the long run, the project works together with the villagers around the area to have a reliable and legal source of income, as well as enriching their habitat and lifestyle. “Majidoi” thrive for developping new ideas for Doi Tung’s products by using local materials and referring to its existing artifacts for inspiration.

The goal in this collection is to use only cellulosic fibers, which are hemp, flax, cotton, and materials that are extracted both directly and secondary from nature, such as vetiver grass and mulberry paper (locally made at the factory by the staffs at Doi Tung Development Project.) Vetiver grass and hemp are materials that can be found plenty in the Doi Tung's area, so we decided to turn them into products that they are not commonly used for.
